You will have to ask themselves. I don't believe it's a set standard.

When I had my 5 done, I remember going around to them, whoever Cherokee Gun n Pawn recommended and FTA and GFL was the cheapest and quickest. Mine got done the same day.

Did you have to disassemble the gun, or did they do it with it intact?

Have a Vz 61 to do and I'd hate to strip it down to bare metal if I don't have to.

I'll probably sound like an idiot, but what is being engraved? I ask that that unless it is something sensitive or personal, I am just curious.
