What exactly qualifies as match Ammo in my AR? This is 100 yards and six shots.

Ammo you've won or had someone win a match with. That's moa to sub moa ammo.

I don't really know though.....

So there is a clear definition! I appreciate the info. Many manufacturers seem to have a line of match Ammo and now I know what it represents. It’s not the manufacturing processes or accuracy, but what it’s done in competition.

Consistent, higher grade ammunition with better components made for long range shooting and consistent quality control. Good projectiles, good powder. Consistent manufacturing

This.

Ammo that has consistent accuracy in your particular rifle would be my definition of match quality. Accuracy and consistency go hand in hand, you want all rounds to be uniform.

For an AR you’ll typically want 69-77gr ammo for match quality. Most of that type of ammo will group MOA or better, but you need to chronograph 10 rounds to really know. Standard deviation and extreme spread will let you know if the ammo is really good stuff.

Black Hills 77gr OTM has SD of 10 and extreme spread of 18 out of my 18” spr barrel. Good stuff.
