Been thinking of putting together an upper, but thought ammo prices were sky high.

Depends on what you want. If you want some fly-by-night company's super rounds, then yeah, you can find 50-60 cents per round. If you want quality subs, talking $1 or so up. I just ordered a couple cases of S&B 220 subs for .80/rd or so, but it's just plinking ammo. Ammoseek.com can be great, but a lot of the cheapest sellers have astronomical shipping prices.

If you want quality 300blk ammo for "reasonable" prices, rolling your own is still the way.

Yup! I put one together utilizing an 8in barrel and a sandman. Bought (odt) a rem micro 7 but have not shot it. Been collecting reloading supplies. Both will be used for subsonic.
