Looking into my first real grill. I'm done with the cheapo charcoal grills and looking between Weber, and a few others (mostly looking at propane, though the green egg does have my attn)

Anybody have any feedback in this area?

Best place to purchase one for a deal?

How good IS the green egg, and how bad is the learning curve to control temp of that joker?

Any good advice is welcome!

Eggs are not bad to learn. Lots of youtube videos and BGE websites available to help out. You won5 regret it
I like having the option to multitask and have direct heat for sear and indirect for veggies... I just don't know how well Egg will do, along with having an option for 30 special attachment/add on's at an extortionate rate.

You want a grill? Or a smoker?

For slow smoked BBQ I'd look at a pellet style. For a grill for great steaks and chops etc then a Weber charcoal kettle is hard to beat. Gas and propane is what you use to power a kitchen stove - not a grill or smoker.
