I have a '75 Caprice Classic convertible with 50K miles that is original-down to paint and top. The ac has been converted over to R134 but needs service. I think the fill port off of the accumulator has a bad valve as I would see refrigerant oil bubble after a freon fill. Is there anyone around Macon that would take a look? I am in the process of putting it up for sale as my dad has a '67 442 convertible that I want to buy.

I tried Smith's and AutoAir and they both said no go to working on older car. Thanks!

I do my own fills. It's pretty easy to do if the system is empty already, as this one should be since you have a leak. After replacing the valve, the only other thing different you'd need to do before filling the freon is to add compressor oil after you pull a vacuum. If you can't get anyone to do it, and don't mind driving to Waverly Hall, I've got a set of manifold gauges and can help you out.

This thread needs pictures of the car in question. :D

Here you go. The 67 and 75.
