Last time I saw Rusty he was at Johns Creek Gun Range

He’s been gone from there for a few years now. Apparently their last “gunsmith” just got up and left recently too. Had to fix some ar uppers from there a customer brought in on Tuesday

Anyone on the west side of metro who can do 1911 work like fitting an ambi safety, extractor, and checker a front strap?

If you would just get over the initial fear of the gun you can do this. If the safety doesn't drop in you can take that to a Smith for fit. There are very few parts inside a 1911. Plenty of videos o how to do it and there are a couple tricks that makes reassembly a snap.

I've always used Bill Hayllar in Sandy Springs. Does excellent 1911 rebuilds/refits. I've had him rebuild 4 or 5 for me and the family so far.
