lol, ok so i am a collector of many things (now).

started with knives, guns and ammo. then silver and coins. im starting to look at watches but i dont know if i really wanna go down that dark money hole (im hoping the great suggestions in the watch thread keep me satisfied with my purchase of a citizen and seiko watch).

i also collect zippo lighters and now im starting to want more (i dont even smoke, i just like them).

i dont think ill ever get into collecting stamps, butterflys, cars, paintings, etc. but what else do yall hoard, i mean collect :)

I have been collecting, Guns, Silver Coins and Signed Baseball's for the past 8 year's.

my dad use to collect instruments and tools

i cant play music worth a damn and all the tools i have are for utility purpose. but he had some awesome stuff

never got into fishing or camping super much so i stayed away from that. interesting stuff though

i bet some folks on here collect golf clubs and other sports memorabilia. i stayed away from sports myself too

i bet everyone on here collects knives of some type lol

I wonder if there isn't a difference between collecting and investing. I think of it as what motivates a person to acquire stuff. I think some people buy silver/gold/old coins for their investment value and potential to increase in value which can be said of many many things that people acquire. I started collecting/acquiring silver nickles back in the '60's just because I knew there was a limited supply. I think I also bought more guns than I needed just because I liked them. Guns are good to collect because you can enjoy them - I don't much enjoy the silver nickles and look upon them now as an investment. And the ultimate investment is one that you can enjoy that has an ever increasing demand and decreasing supply - Land. And if push comes to shove, you have a place to go and can live off of it. (Provided you have the guns and ammo to protect yourself!)

id agree and id love to buy land

but you cant own property in this country and i dont like the idea of having to pay for the privilege to rent it from the government. i might buy soon but i like the idea of owning stuff that isnt easily stolen from me.

but i do enjoy collecting the coins and the silver. i do it less as an investment and more of a means of stacking. well initially, now i am stuck looking to expand my collection more so as a hobby rather than just as a way of divesting my estate's wealth

bling bling
Every time I hear "bling bling" I think of this...my sisters bike...:becky:

Lame collections... Out of all the stuff you collect or "hoard" can you turn them into Teddy Bears?
I didn't think so...
I just heard from O.S. (or not :becky:) if you scroll down below picture #1 you will see the newest thing to be added to the ODT store...

I was joking... but there are obviously some weird yo-yo's out there that take it pretty serious.
Probably the same folks that go around driving PVC pipes in the ground in random plots of land. :becky:
