I inspected the crown very closely after I was done. The center tool actually rotates at the same speed as the barrel, so there is no friction or rubbing on the barrel. Thanks for the tip.Looks good. You may or may not want to take a skim cut on your crown too after having your center take a ride on it.
Well done.. Another "Ruined" vintage Remington 572.. LOL I was able to play with one just like it over the weekend with a "Sparrow" and quiets.. Unbelievable..Well, I did it again. This time I threaded an old Remington 572 barrel just for fun. It came out really good I think. Gadgetsrfun and @hamburglar3 should be impressed.

I made mine .5000 because I wanted to match the thread protector I already had. I made some 5/8-24 threads the other day on an adapter, and I made those just a little over .750.How long are the threads? AR spec is .6 while 22lr cans run .4-.45
