Interacting with Armed Citizens

I'm going. Registered and confirmed.
Saturday will be an educational day for me. All about education.
Attend this presentation as a student in the morning, go get lunch,
then maybe stop by a couple gun stores to talk to them about carrying the Georgia Weapons Law book,
and then in the late afternoon meet Dan4010 to give our presentation at Bass Pro.

Great class! We had a few private armed citizens and several LEO / medics / other public safety personnel.
It was 2/3 about the 4th Amendment and 1/3 about Georgia gun carry laws.
We discussed several U.S. Supreme Court cases about when cops can detain somebody, the difference between reasonable suspicion and probable cause, the difference between voluntarily cooperating with officers' requests and acquiescing to their official commands, and what "probable cause" is.
We covered gun laws about the Georgia Weapons Carry License (GWCL), about certain public safety and criminal justice professionals that can carry without a license just with their badge or other gov't credentials, and about how LEO cannot stop people involuntarily just to "check them out" or "see their carry permit" without evidence that the person is unlicensed or is carrying illegally.
We saw videos showing foaming-at-the-mouth crazy cops threatening to kill quiet and polite armed citizens during minor traffic stops, and we saw videos of 2A advocates open carrying in downtown areas and prompting Man With A Gun calls.

This class was the most educational $16 I ever spent. If this were a CLE (continuing legal education) class (and it was just as professionally organized and presented), it would cost $140 to get 3 hours of instruction.

I've been there. I was working armored trucks when I left the Marines in the NY metropolitan area. Was the guard on a route new to me and was told by the driver and custodian that this was the very worst stop the company had.

I noticed the guy working on his car with the dirty tee shirt that looked like he hadn't shaved in a couple of days as we walked in.

Imagine my surprise as he walked in with what appeared to be a semi automatic pistol being held by the barrel wrapped in a plastic grocery bag in his left hand. He had my brothers S&W .357 with the 6" barrel pointed at him when I shouted. He did everything I told him to, in the order I told him to do it. A few moments after I was done shouting orders the manager yelled that he was a cop and our backup. I was pissed, I almost shot a good guy!

When I went back to the depot I called a meeting of the managers. I was still so angry they got right in the office. I told them I didn't know what kind of Mickey Mouse operation they were running and then told them what happened. Their eyes got big as dinner plates.

For the next year and a half I worked there the undercover cops would quietly identify themselves to all of us as we entered the stops. It was nice to have backup when you knew they were good guys.

So show a lot of respect for those armored truck guys for your own sake as well as theirs. It's an exhausting job watching every move and everything transpiring all day long, people are constantly reaching quickly to make sure they have their wallet or grocery lists. Cover the gun up and walk wide, you have no idea what happened to him the stop before that one. It is a tough, tough job and they're not paid well.

I could imagine that this would be a very worthwhile class!
ok so if joe blow with cwp did notthing wrong would this not be trouble for the guard ? lawsuit ? i would be pissed if a guard pulled on me! i dont care who they are they are not leo's and are protecting private property and dont have the right to pull a gun on someone just because they see a gun being carried and the person is acting funny/moving fast ect ect
