I took my 1st deer with a handgun, a 6 point with a 8'3/8 Taurus 44 mag.

That's awesome!!! My first deer was a boring old 30/30.

Had this exact, same, gun about 5 years back. Traded it towards a Colt 1911. Don't have the Colt anymore either, but between the two, this is the one that I kick myself for getting rid of.

edit - followed the link, I thought they were discontinued, didn't know you could buy them new still. Might put one on layaway.

My 6.5” tracker 357 is probably the most accurate pistol I’ve ever shot. With 38 wad cutters it will chew a ragged hole as small as you can hold it. One of the best guns I own.

By the way, double ear pro when you shoot these. Loud is an understatement. As far as recoil, you will be pleasantly surprised at how controlled it is.

Had a Chief's Special back in the day. It was very accurate and easy to handle.
