One year later than I'd like but I just got outbid. It's actually at a local dealer for $20k. I don't know what's happened with these but they've doubled in price in the last year. Just saw a nice low mileage example go for $28k and everyone on the site was shocked it didn't go over $30k. :dizzy:

So what's your 'high school car' whether you owned it or not?

my brothers first car was a used Toyota celica. Mine was a 1979 Buick Regal two door. Cut lawns for a summer and my grandmother matched what I earned. I think I paid 1500.

My high school car was a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie XL 500, 2dr, black, red interior, bench seats, a four speed and a 390. I owned it, but dad paid the insurance............I paid for the gas, tires, oil changes, any work I could not do, and of course, the tickets!

You should go down to Streetside and walk around their showroom/warehouse. They have good prices, but you have to negotiate from what is on the sticker. They recently sold my 1923 T Bucket for me and got what I was asking. That ad is for one of their showrooms. They also have a web presence and you can see all their inventory on line including videos.

My high school car, in 1966 was a 1952 Chevy 2 door with a 6 cylinder and a smitty muffler. In 1968, as a college student I traded up for a 1962 Chevy Impala with a 283 and I put a Hurst Mystery Shifter kit in and a lot of chrome on the engine. It was always a hit at the Dairy Queen when I'd pop the hood but it was all show and not so much go. My dad sold it in 1970 while I was off in that other part of the world fighting the red menace and he kept the money for "parking rent".
