Heat Effecting Cars?

Have a lot of 12 volt batteries in my life. I've had mostly good service with from Walmart's Evertstart batteries (Johnson Controls), as well as NAPA (which I think are rebranded Interstates, but not sure). Costco's Kirkland has also been good, for the couple that I've had.

Anything above 85 or below 40 will wreak havoc on batteries, alternators and even water pumps. Having one explode like that is very uncommon. Definitely an internal short caused it. I’m actually surprised a Dekra battery lasted that long, I stopped selling those 25+ years ago. Today, if you get more than 4-5 years out of a battery, you did quite well. Glad no one was injured or loss to property.
