I just left Home Depot with a free empty cable spool! It was a "right place at the right time" deal, but I asked if they give them away to people who ask. The guy said yes, and that it may be good to call ahead to see if they have any.

I plan on sanding it, staining it, and making a rustic round coffee table!

I work at an industrial hose facility and we use these things for bonfires! Seriously we probably haul, smash, burn 25 or more a week

many years ago my dad and i used one as a fish cleaning table
