What are you looking to do with the truck? Get it on the road ASAP and drive it or work on it (if you enjoy dirty hands) over time and then drive it. There is no substitute for experience. If you have the time and inclination to work on it, do it. Start off with the simple stuff. The gas tank, drop it, inspect it, R&R it, blow out the gas lines and seal them up. Then the rear end. Pull the brakes off, open the diff cover, pull the axles and replace the bearings (NOTE WHERE and HOW many spacers are where). When in doubt ask / search the internet. There are a bunch of chevy truck / c10 forums on the net. Wish you were closer to Gwinnett.
Good Luck.
