Gas Prices

sure, but here's the thing. Even if it wasn't in some circumstances I don't care. The benefits outweigh the costs to me. If I had to pay more in taxes, so be it. I don't mind spending money on a quality service.

These social programs of food, healthcare, transportation, housing are unsustainable. Our country is already drowning in debt.

My reason for not using it is that I don't require it. It also would not benefit the community if I did use it.

What the beef with public transit again? You don't like crowds? You want freedom and liberty? Rush said it's bad?

I don't live in the city and it wouldn't benefit me....so I shouldn't have to pay for it. You want things that benefit you, then you should have to pay for it. The EBT does benefit the community because it feeds children that didn't ask to be in the position they are in. This MAY reduce crime a little, so there is a benefit. The Obama phone may enable low income people to call 911, again it MAY help the community. Mass transit could never help my community because it wouldn't be there. I don't like a socialist society but Woodrow Wilson and FDR pushed us into a sembalence of one. That was before my time. It is easy to denounce or support all Govenment programs according to what good or bad you find in them.

I'm not seeing an end of year loss. The taxpayer contributes a percentage, I'd expect that.
WTH? It's over $71 MILLION dollars loss last year. 2012 was a loss of $65 MILLION and 2011 (as far back as it goes) is a loss of $138 MILLION. Over a quarter of a BILLION dollars in operating losses in just three years! "A percentage". Yeah I guess you can call a fully EIGHTY PERCENT subsidy "a percentage". I suppose if your employer canme to you and said we need to cut your pay by 80% to stay afloat you'd say "Sure" and just say "I took a percentage cut in pay." You are something else brother...

Oh, so you just used the opportunity to assume that I disliked the US and that anywhere else is superior. That is in light of the fact that you hold the same opinion on why I wouldn't let my daughter ride MARTA alone.

Got it. I wouldn't have expected that from you.
I have absolutely zero idea what in the hell you are talking about here. But rock on.

That's how taxes work. I don't use public swimming pools but I pay for them. I don't use public parks, but I pay for them. I have the option, but I am not required to use it.

So how much does it cost me to fund that park or pool....not enough to ***** about. I'm glad it's there.

I know how taxes work, and I am against it.

It's not in ALL circumstances. And it's not just YOU that would have to pay more in taxes.

How much of that is start up costs? Will all of the those expenses be present every year? I'd expect losses until construction costs are covered.
