Check the gas key on the BCG. I bet it leaks. Happened to me.
Pull the gas block off and measure the gas port, if you don’t have proper tools use the non fluted end of a drill bit. Btw, who was the barrel manufactured by? It definitely sounds like it’s undergassed, and being carbine length it is a very likely scenario.
