Can’t go wrong with the Foodsaver brand. We have had one for 10-15 years. I use their bags too but there may be others out there.

Food vacuum sealer, who does it? Opinion? Pros / cons?

I vacuum seal ammunition with mine.
We are in the market to grab one. A buddy of mine has one and his freezer is dress right dress and it saves a ton of room. Also for prepping he sealed up beans and seeds for a go bag.
I have used multiple models of Foodsaver brand sealers and some definitely work better than others. Also we buy our rolls of bags from Outofair.com as theirs are generally cheaper and made of a heavier weight plastic.

Do your freeze your ground meats before you vacuum seal so it’s doesn’t suck up all the juices and blood?
The organization side of it appealed to my wife.
Some of the freezers we looked at were organized and clean when vacuum sealing vs throwing in food packed from the store!
I don’t freeze any raw ground meat. I usually cook it pretty soon after purchase then vacuum seal and freeze
I will have to check them out.
I have heard the bags make a lot of difference.
So a cheaper bag that is more durable sounds like a win win.

Ammo, fire starter kit, socks and a couple snacks should be a good start.
Gotcha, that make sense.
My wife sometimes cooks it before (normal) freezing.
I will keep this in mind for vacuum sealing!
