Flintlock hunting

This looks really fun! Any ODTers out there toting a .50 or .60 cal flintlock fowler?

Like reg muzzle loader but I don’t think I would want a flintlock personally

I have a .72 caliber flint smooth bore. (12 gauge) as well as two .45 caliber rifles. Haven’t shot them in years but hunted pretty exclusively for 10 years or so.

9 gauge (.78 cal) musket is good for minute-of-pieplate at 50 yards with buck and/or ball. Big military lock is clunky but fast and reliable.

Been shooting the same flintlock for 40 years and ignition normally more reliable than percussion!

I don’t hunt anymore but nothing like shooting a flintlock rifle! (25 yd offhand target left turkey shot left-handed and right turkey shot right-handed)

I haven't ever had a flintlock, but I took my first deer with a 50cal Hawken at 10-15yds. I've used a Remington 700ml in 50cal ever since they came out with them. I shot one at 100yds with that one. Hit it in the back of the head, that deer did a complete flip and hit the ground

Love shooting traditional muzzleloaders. Haven’t had a flintlock yet, but I definitely want one.
