I know it's a long shot, But I wondered if some gov agency had a list ofstolen firearms that they might be in possession of, and waiting for an owner to claim. My Dad had a Viet Nam bring-back SKS with the appropriate letters/paperwork to do so. It got stolen. Then he died. All his belongings were left to me, including that stack of permission to bring back a war trophy. In my mind, it belongs to me. I'd like to find it. Any of you guys got any good hints/suggestions for a situation like this?
Thanks in advance y'all.

You will need to contact the agency it was originally reported stolen to. If the gun was recovered the original agency would have been notified. You will need documentation of ownership.
