I've been there with the wifey... Really beautiful !!!

I think you are correct because I was there recently and saw an actual off grid tent camping trail but also saw a lot of UTV/ATV tracks going that path.

FDR State Park close to Callaway Gardens on Pine Mountain is not super but a lot of presidential history, small towns with good food and shops for the family to enjoy.

Got a client that swears by Crooked River down in the SE corner of GA. Perfect this time of year.

We love Fort Mountain -- clean restrooms, quiet, nice camping slots and it is usually 10 degrees cooler on the mountain than down on the flat lands. It's just far enough from Atlanta to limit the boobs coming out of the suburbs -- but -- not too far away....

On top by the bathrooms has a tent camp... That I can tell!!!

We really enjoyed Vogel State Park and Helton Falls nearby. Camping spots were roomy in comparison to other like Tallulah.

Holy crap! Was just up there to check out the sites with close family friends who went all the time when their kids were young. Best place to go trout fishing if the kids are under 11 they tell me.
