Whomever owned it couldn't find ones that fit and the only ones he could find were to long so he twisted them together to make them fit and forced a couple nuts on. Seems logical.

looks like a Polaris. i would say the brake/hub locked up at speed and the axle wrenched the control arm around the cv axles..... the wheel would not spin so the control arm did.
