We can use a little good news. My Dollar General has 20% off for all former and active duty vets military this weekend. I believe it is system wide, as the cashier had a special code he scanned.

I may go back and stock up on canned goods and coffee.

Unlike a lot of "discounts", no ID or supporting documents necessary.

As opposed to active duty. If you want to be technical, active duty is not a veteran.

But, as far as DG goes, everyone gets the discount.

I do 95% of my shopping there now. Know the manager and several of the employees on a first name basis.

Very similar to the smaller grocers I remember from the 60s.

I take Mom there cause it's small and she can get out and not get so tired. The ladies there always make a fuss over her and she does them too .
