Does your bug out set up include?

How many of your sniper buddies would choose a Mosin with irons over an AI AX and top tier glass?

Not sure why you keep bringing up Mosin's in your arguments against your high end rifles, they are garbage rod rifles & not worth even bothering to try and make accurate. This whole debate was because you think Rem's are inferior. I don't even like Remington but there are good 700's out there that do the job just fine.

The only reason I can see a high end rig like the ones you're talking about are dedicated rifles that are shooting well over 1,000+ yards. Remington 700's & Savage 110's are shooting just fine at 1,000 yards.

The question is, why would anyone need a 1,500 yard gun to target intruders at shorter ranges? The whole conversation started with a 600 yard distance. In reality, a person looking through a scope isn't going to be able really tell who's friendly and who's a potential foe. Just as easily targeting some person foraging or a group looking for family or friends. I stand by my statement that targeting civilians at long distance's, it's irresponsible and criminal. We're still all American's even in hard times, you don't need a 1,500 yard rifle to defend yourself from hungry people. You couldn't even tell at that range who anyone is, could well as kill your own mother thinking you're defending your home from thieves.

A more reasonable is a range of 200, maybe 300 with a sign posted regarding the process for communication. Targeting people because a person perceived them as a threat isn't justifiable.

Even 600 yards it's less to do with top tier rifles and more to do with an accurate rifle with good ammunition and clear glass. Just because you want to spend $3k+ on what a $800-$1,000 rig can do is purely on want's, not need's. Just because your ego is stroked from owning what the specialists use doesn't make you anymore of shooter than someone that chose a Remington 700. I chose a Savage 10FCP HS, & for shooting up to 1,000 I wouldn't need anything else.

I didn't bring up the Mosin originally. It was brought up by another poster.

Also, I want the best capability I can get out of my gear. The rest is on my skill. There's no reason to handicap yourself with inferior equipment. The older I get, the more high end equipment seems to help. I can practice reading wind, and all of the other techniques that go into being a good marksman, but if I'm using cheap crap it doesn't matter. Check all of the boxes and swing for the fences.

At 600 yards, it's not a handicap to choose an accurate Remington 700 over a specialized long range rig. Even an AR15 is plenty of rifle at those ranges.

No cats have ringworm and they’re nasty. Im happy you have one what caliber and let’s see some groups?
It can be a lot of different calibers since it's an MRAD. This setup happened to be in .308, but 6.5C, and others are possible with a quick barrel change. We had a lot of 175gr. SMKs so .308 it was for the week. We were shooting steel at distance at this class, not groups. This rifle is under a half minute though. I don't have pics. Sorry.
