1st-. Based on the serial number you can check the real manufactur years
2nd-. He need disarmament complete and make sure how are the internal components
3th-. Shoot that pistol

Somebody will chime in that knows about them. I was always into the more modern guns...so I just don’t have much to offer...type in “date my Colt” on your search bar, you’ll find a serial number look up link...put in your serial number, and viola...it’s cool to see that Colt put that serial number on multiple types of their guns...through various years...
 
She’s a USGI colt m-1911 frame and slide, made in 1918. Looks all original, maybe a bring back from the war? Price will vary greatly based on the internal parts, the barrel, and if you have any papers from the war from where it was brought back. Value will range from 1,200 to 4,500. Shes a fine specimen and there is a strong market for the old Colts and the individual pieces/parts. I’d be happy to take a closer look at her for you if you like.
