CMP 1911 Lottery Round 4

I sent mine as soon as they opened up taking packets. Early September I think. You should be close.
There are some nice ones that come in from the CMP sale. My round 2 came in with a nice unused original finish Remington Rand frame, but a 1980's military replacement slide, barrel and magazine. I think the collectable frame wasn't worth the $1100 alone. Its hit or miss, but you can get lucky.
I found a $500 1911 for sale on ODT a year later that had an original WWII Colt slide in like new original finish on an off-brand frame. I combined my Rand frame, Colt slide and bought a nice WWII barrel and magazine at a good price. I now have an amazing WWII pistol that didn't cost much more, after selling the CMP slide on the off-brand frame as a complete pistol for $500. I later picked up a nice correct type 3 Remington Rand slide in original finish, but some wear for around $100; the Colt slide stays on the frame and makes a like new Colt/Rand pistol.

Nice, think I'll go Field Grade when my number comes up.
I received a field grade in round two as well and this one from round four is definitely in better condition. I think we are seeing the fewest number of replacement slides on field and rack it that matters to you.
Anyone know if they are gonna have enough guns left to do a round 5? Couldn't get into 4 due to the 1 pistol per year requirement. My '45 RR needs a friend.
Why are these so expensive? $1200 and may have pitting? $1000 with rust and pitting? What makes these so special?
They are much nicer than the description, they are priced well below market value. I got a field grade this fall, rebuilt Remington Rand, basically new with a few scuffs
