Okay so I am going to try my hand at bow hunting for turkey this year. My question is will i need to get some fixed blade broadheads or will my mechanical heads work? if so what heads do you prefer?

I already use fixed blade buzz cuts and have never used mechanical. So I prefer fixed blade, but I shoot a heavy arrow to keep speeds down right at or slightly below 300fps. I was thinking of trying the big bladed turkey broadheads that have like a 3" spread then go for the base of the neck this year. Let me ask the other guy that I know that turkey hunts with a bow and see what he says about mechanicals.

Use ramcat with the blades pushed forward.

I wonder If I could just use my spitfires with the blades locked out? as long as the shots 30 yards or closer I don't think it will make that much difference in flight. I just hate to go out and buy all new broadheads but I may have too
