Not necessary but I hear it helps a lot with blowback on suppressed short guns.

From what I remember, you can adjust from suppressed to unsuppressed without removing the BCG, which wasn't true for Gemtech.
So what's the word on this one? Anyone pick one up? My suppressed 10.5" should have a choking hazard sticker on it. Maybe this will calm her down...?

Got mine in last week. Haven't shot it yet. All I can really say is that the machining on it is superb.

Tried mine out the other day on my 8" 300 Blk, I definitely prefer an adjustable gas block over it. But I bought it use on my rifles that don't have adj gas blocks anyways. It is nice, although the finish on the adjuster screw cracks off as soon as you touch a screwdriver to it, the rest of it is not like that.
The bcg works by bleeding off the excess gas, right at the carrier, and it does so with a very loud crack. Maybe with 5.56 the crack doesn't matter, but with subsonic 300 blk the gas bleeding off was far louder than anything else. I'll stick with adj gas blocks for all my future builds.

I like mine on my 14.5 that was very gassy. The settings make a noticable difference. Definitely worth it at that price
