Not being sarcastic, just an honest question as this happened to me recently. I offered to pay full asking price and the seller told me he got an offer $50 higher.

I know sellers can ask and accept whatever they like, but is waiting for higher priced offers allowed?

Should not be allowed but this is the NEW and Improved ODT where Bidding on an Item is allowed.
Seems like the few that still have any integrity are getting fewer and fewer on here.

The guy is a Duche bag for not sticking to his asking price and to me that shows he has no integrity at all for taking bids on his item and admitting to it.

The latter may be true.
The reason it is relevant is that even if he did have a deal, there is no obligation to sell at the meet.
There is certainly no obligation to sell without a confirmed deal.
How are the mods supposed to moderate what happens in PM!

Life should be fair.
