If you are just redoing the slide on a semi-auto pistol, ION Coatings in NW Georgia does a great strip and Ceracote job inexpensively.
He did a refurb of a slide for me and it was EXCELLENT! He actually will do screws, firing pin retainers, and other small parts.
The Ceracote is applied thinly (per specification) so there is little to no "fitting" problems when you put it all back together!
For example: I had no problem re-installing the rear sight into its notch, the firing-pin retainer fit perfectly as did the fine threaded screws!
The finish was beautiful, tough, and all of the original scroling, serial numbers, logos etched into the piece looked "Factory New".
At the time I used them earlier this year, they were not gunsmiths, they are refinishers ... you will have to do your own dis / re-assembly.
