Best 12 GA Slug or Buckshot load for Deer Hunting?

I use a Brenneke sabot slug on my rifled barrel shotgun. Very accurate at 100 yds, but I wont a deer that far with it.
I'm not a fan of buckshot for deer, slugs are better to bring em down imo.

Stick with slugs and shoot the one that is most accurate in your gun. They are so big that if you hit a deer in a vital area they are devastating. No worries about terminal ballistics.

If you don't have a rifled barrel, you can't shoot sabots. It needs to be a rifled slug.

I grew up hunting in front of dogs using #1 Buck out of a 28" Modified Choke Browning Light 12. I used #1 because it patterned out of that gun better than 00. My Dad's other Light 12, with a 30" Full Choke, would sling 00 Buck with amazing accuracy. I don't know how many deer and bear fell to his 00 over the years, I only managed six deer and one bear, but that was pretty much everything I shot at. Never hunted with slugs, but having ran a stage with over 20 slug shots in it during a 3 Gun match, I HIGHLY recommend low recoil slugs if you plan on shooting a lot of them.
