has anyone bought one of those cheap carburetor off eBay for like a honda recon or something of that nature Are they any good ?

If its been sitting and is clogged from the ethanol crap
It’s pretty easy to clean
We did one last year
We replaced the float needle and seat for $7 on Amazon and kept the Honda carb which I’m sure is much higher quality than a China carb

Not sure what’s up with the carb bought it not running he said it was flooding real bad
What did you use for solvent? I'm about to tear into one myself.

Hey OP, I bought one of those cheap replacement carbs for my honda recon and it was crap. I wouldn't buy another one,my 2 cents
Remove the carb and the float bowl
Carefully inspect the float
It should move freely on its Hinge pin
If it doesn’t flop up and down when you roll the carb upside down
Then the needle is stuck
Don’t push on the float , you will bend it and you don’t want that
It’s a pain to re adjust it if you bend the tabs that clip onto the needle
Carefully remove the pin the float hinges on and carefully remove the float, it’s clipped to the needle
Once you get the float off
You may be able to grip the neeedle with pliers and pull it out
Our was stuck and wouldn’t not come out
I used a tiny drill bit and drilled out the center and then was able to pull the needle out
Bought a new needle on amazon for $7
