If you know any, ask a WW2 vet to name some movies. My dad was in the 8th Air Force and he thought "12 O'clock High" was an accurate depiction of the war as he knew it.

To Hell and Back.

Hey, Audie Murphy played himself!

I read his memoirs. Also titled “To Hell and Back” not much propaganda. Just an ordinary dude killing a bunch of folks and sad that his friends died.

Downfall - Great film telling the story of the collapse of Hitler and the 3rd Reich. Historically accurate. It's a must watch.

Where Eagles Dare - Its great entertainment action movie with many stars. Doesn't do much from a historical perspective.

In Harms Way - John Wayne, kind of a soap opera, they considered making it a mini series(wish they did). it had a story line that made you want to keep watching. Highly recommended.

Downfall was one of the movies we thought would be a good include.

Where Eagles Dare...I just wanted that recently for the first time in about 30 years. It's fun, but completely unrealistic. It's the 1970s version of the Fast and Furious saga, set during wartime.
