Anyone have a 458 SOCOM or 50 Beowulf that has advise before I get one?

Before the ATF comes and gets what I have already, I am looking at getting a 458 SOCOM or 50 Beowulf upper to somewhat complete my AR platform rifles.
Anyone, who has owned or currently does, have advise for me as to whether I should, or should not, get either, or prefer one over the other, and why?

Yep and hamburglar3 has a 50 I think.

458 is a blast to shoot but ammo is the challenge there are not any major manufacturers commercially producing the round. No issues with cycling so long as you have the correct follower in your magazine. My 450 Bushmaster magazines work and I have had success with the 3D printed followers that you can buy on eBay.

I shot one of the first 50 Wulfs that came out. Packs a punch and uses modified GI mags. Many years ago, ammo was pricey at $1.50/round when AK food was about .10/round. Can't Imagine what it would cost to shoot now and can you even find the ammo.

I do have an Adams factory rig. Kicks like a 20 gauge. Easy to modify mags from 556 to feed.

haven’t bought ammo in a long time so no idea of price/scarcity. My best deal was factory rounds at $.75.
My only beef is that mine does not have threaded barrel

I have placed my order for a 458 SOCOM upper, accessories and reloading brass, bullets, etc.
With the ammo prices hovering between $2.25 and $4, I can definitely reload for half.
