We had a covered front porch built in 2005 using all flagstone and stack stone for the entire porch and 2 steps up to our front door. This was done when the house was built in December 2005. We recently noticed some sag at the front edge of the front porch and then noticed the mortar was busting up between the stack stone on the steps. Now that it's more of a hole than a crack, t looks like a mesh screen on now rotten WOOD behind the stone and of course the wood is rotted from water getting in for weeks, maybe months! I can't believe it's wood under the stone which seems wrong to do instead of block & concrete but I am no expert.
Does anyone out there give bids out in the Covington area. We may want (or NEED) the entire porch and two steps re-done completely to be sure it's done correctly. We need someone insured to cover employees on the job in case of injury.
