Any Pro plumbers available ? Just for a question please.....

Whoa, that's rape! There's a member on here looking for plumbing side work. Get in touch with him and buy a new 40 gallon gas Rheem at Home Depot for $400, expansion tank for $40, plus a few fittings. $900 w/labor total tops.

Be careful what size water heater you buy. Check out the BTU rating. You should get nothing less than 40,000 btu’s This is important when it comes to recovery. 40K btu is available on 40 and 50 gallon heaters. The HD heater mention here does not have the btu’s that’s why it’s cheaper than others. Here’s a reality check. If a heater cost say 1500.00 and last 10 years then you are only paying 150.00 per year for hot water that is on 24/7. How many autos have you been through in 10 years and what did they cost? People get caught up on up front expense and forget what pleasure you get from hot water. I know you can’t drive it, wear it, or shoot it.......one more thing don’t get caught up on warranties they all last 10+ years. Warranties don’t cover labor after the first year.
