Another SHTF question!

So given that some post apocalyptic situation, an invasion from a foreign source or even zomies....whatever the cause, if you were going to have a "battle riffle" or one weapon system to depend on, would you rather have an AR platform or AK? Just curious as to what others think.

My primary SHTF rifle is my CZ VZ58. But... if only given the two choices above, AK47 for sure! AR wouldn't even come into consideration.

My SHTF gun is the FN FS 2000. BUT If I had to choose AR OR AK... AK-47 all the way.

AK for me, AR for the wife. Both calibers covered for max scavenging and versatility.

<---active duty here, so I can do most things with an AR that can do done with an AK, other than the better "knockdown" power

I will have to go AR as well.... I'm also unfamiliar with the AK.
