ROCCO!!!!!!!

With a reliable power source I can set up a private communication network similar to ones the Mexican drug gangs were found to have just recently. When SHTF all you need is knowlege and access to any Mobile Telephone Switching Office for equipment and a few cell sites. Command & control are based on communication with out it you are just armed guys running round shooting stuff or hiding out.

well he oughta do fine then..if and when it does get to that point, "rigging" is gonna have to work, won't be specialists to rebuild your motor out of new parts they just ordered, gonna have to rig something up to work.

haha you all are crazy! I will just buy enough food, guns, ammo, etc to provide for trained military and hottttt ladies....Im not going to do S**t and Im going to be a KING!!!! Thats my plan by the way!

Gardening, growing crops come to mind as a valuable skill. A lot of people think you can throw a few seeds into a garden and it will just crap out food at a sustainable rate. Not so. Takes a helluva lot of work. Produce will sustain your family, it can be stored via canning, drying or freezing, and it can be sold and bartered away.

Like the previous mention of the "Ebay skills", it will be extremely important to be able to negotiate. Anyone who can set up a trading post or host a barter location will do very, very well for themselves. If you do not have a plan to seed that type of enterprise NOW, you won't have the time or capital to do it if things get really bad. Barter works pretty well today if you have what people want and you can source it at a lower price so you can profit.

The worst we have to worry about now (outside of some natural disaster) is a severe economic depresssion. How would you survive if you're one of the 50% of the unemployed or 25% that's underemployed? Think it won't happen? The people that accurately predicted the 2008 crash are raising the red flag that another crash will make recent crashes look like a cakewalk.
