prefer the smell of a real fire (which transfers to the food) over something that smells like nothing from gas!!! If you want gas, eat beans!

I use both. The grill that Lowes sells that has gas on one side and propane on the other was perfect for grilling.......Except the gas side burned out in one season. Gas is great for convenience,CHARCOAL for FLAVOR . I was told today that it is a two bag limit. Since it wasn't posted they sold me the buggy full that I had at the counter.
And I stock up when it goes on sale. Sad part, that this will just get me through Labor Day!
I just lit the grill, and used the last of the Kingsford, had to double up on the pecan, thanks for the reminder
Lowe's usually does! I double checked all of their signs when I went and didn't see anything on limit. Of course after I left they probably added one!
Green egg= lump charcoal= real deal
I gave my propane grill to my dad after switching to real lump charcoal. No more flare ups and way better flavor, I want a green egg or Primo brand ceramic someday when my chargriller rust out.
gotta abuse it and leave it out in the weather, to do so! they are a pretty tough grill! I have enjoyed the one that I have! I may, someday, get to the green egg, but think I may go the ugly drum route instead and have fun building it!
