Does anybody know of somebody that works on Acura's close to Athens? The transmission went out on mine and it acts like it might be a controller/module or something like that. Don't know if I can afford to take it to the dealer but will if there's no other option. Thanks

Hondas are pretty easy to work on. I've only had professional Nissan/Infiniti experience but I've done tune ups and valve job on my MDX.

I had a TL and @ 256K miles the tranny started going out, but it was the actual torque converter that was going bad. After the transmission got warm it started creating back pressure and the transmission fluid was coming out of an overflow value on top of the transmission (could be seen from under the hood). Didn't really have any other options but to have it rebuilt or put another transmission in it. Of course @ $2500 on a car worth about $8K, I opted to sell it and just get a new one. Good luck with whatever you do; Honda's are great cars but nothing is made to run forever (at least not anymore).

Mine is a 2000 model but it only has about 90,000 miles. Was hoping to get a little bit more out of it before the dang transmission went out. :(
