Fwiw i amended the berry patch with lots of lemon juice and orange juice to increase soil acidity

These little mesh bags have been a lifesaver for our strawberry patch. They’re the only thing we’ve found to keep the critters from eating them the moment they ripen, while also allow the flowers to be pollinated

I have a pretty small batch, so it’s not bad. I usually put 2-3 in each bag to cut down on time and just cinch the bags instead of tying them. My experience has been no bags, no strawberries though…

That's why I buy them at the farmers market.....the work involved, is beyond my ability to respond...

Yeah, they’re not for everyone. Kind of a pet project, like the rest of our garden. It’s good for me to get my hands in the dirt- gets my mind off of work and all that. I find solace in the natural world

We used the large mesh sheets over pvc hoops for the beds getting attacked by bugs.
