2 world war winner

I love 1911s don't get me wrong. HOWEVER in the 1980s I did my own test. I had bought a brand new government model, took it home field stripped it then lubed it. I went into my crawl space dug about a 18 inch hole and buried my new pistol. A few minutes later I dug it up shook it off and fired two rounds before it jammed up solid. Over the last few years I have owned numerous Glocks. 17s, 19s, a 20, 21, 30, 32, 36, 40, and 43. The only jams other than with my beginning reloads was when I foolishly lubed the firing pin channel on a well used model 20. If I had to pick up a 45 to defend myself it would be the model 21. I still have my 45 1911 and wouldn't sell it for anything. But facts are facts. FWIW. A

Love the 1911 but in SHTF I'm grabbing my H&K USP 45
