4" most likely a -2 model 29.
Easily could triple his investment even at a pawn shop,I'd say.

This is why its important to clean things up while you are still able. Give the ones away that family will want. Take the burden of selling your stuff away from your grieving family.

I had a new S&W model 29, for my youngest new never fired in my safe, he said he did not want it because it was a revolver, I traded it here on ODT.

Gimmebackmybullets has it right--The Model 27 has a 3 & 1/2" Barrel & what looks to be a Model 29 has a Four-inch Barrel--BTW, both are N-Frames and a Four-inch N-Frame Holster will work for both, if he can live with a little bit of leather "Overhang" on the Model 27...
