1911 Receiver Assembly Help - I have 2 extra parts? Doh!

I am well known as a mechanical dunderhead. But my grip safety on my Colt Commander Series 80 was rattling so I attempted to adjust the leaf spring.

After a few frustrating attempts I was able to disassemble it.

After taking it apart I noticed these 2 parts that do not show up in my generic 1911 manual. They were up near the firing pin. (Hmmm - should I check my Colt manual? I just thought of that)

Anyway I have attached photos of the 2 unidentified parts. And a photo of the exploded gun diagram - they are not there.

Can anyone tell me what they are and how I can put my gun back together?

Those are your Series 80 firing pin safety parts. Without them they won't depress the slide plunger and your 1911 won't go boom

You have a series 70 manual. These are sometimes a booger to get in, sometimes they are easy.
