I would invest in a lightweight liner as well, and a sleeping bag cover (waterproof) to keep the moisture out of the bag setup and its lightweight as well. I use this one in Alaska and it has keep the condensation out of my bag setup. I use a synthetic down bag as well, mine is a kelty.

Have a cocoon liner, but wont help with warmth.

Goose down. I have a -20 bag mountain hardware bag. Sub kilo weight. Packs very small.

That bag at -0 is $800 in todays cost. If she wanted to keep climbing there would not be a issue. $800 would be cheap for the good stuff. Kind of like 9mm V-S 45 caliber

don't go 1/2 or 3/4 zipper like i did to save a few oz...go full zipper so you can hang feet out if you get hot.

Down is the way to go for weight and comfort and compressibility. You do have to access how wet the environment is. If it is wet you have to buy a bag with a waterproof membrane outer shell or seperate bag liner.

Down is great, but it is expensive. It is very durable, which doesn't sound like a consideration for just one trip.

Synthetic bags are cheaper and a bit more forgiving in wet environments.

Generally smaller/tighter bags are warmer, so comfort (moving in the bag) will require more insulation/weight to achieve the same ability to insulate. Most people like roomy bags, but they really suck at efficiently insulating.

I would look at something like this, unless you want to drop big money on down.
