12.5" AR in 7.62 (308)?

Been doing a bit of research here lately on 12.5" AR platform in 308. Never messed with one, but liking the concept. I am sure the noise and concussion would be strong, but anyone here have any experience with one? Thought it might make a solid walking around the woods rifle during deer season. Any useful information or personal experience would be appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving, be safe, and God bless yall.

I have both a .308 in 10-1/2"and a 458 SOCOM in 8-1/2".
Get well made hearing protection.

I’ve been around some. Unpleasant is putting it nicely.

Cheaper and easier to do 300bo. 308 bullets in a smaller case and not much slower than a 308sbr

I thought this would be about x39 ARs. A while back someone here posted a pic of either a CMMG Mutant or the PSA knockoff version in about 8" pistol form. That's the one I want. AK mags in a short tube AR pistol. The one in the pic would be perfect if it was a side charger.

I have a 16" M1A SOCOM and its loud enough....can't imagine a 12.5" !!!

16" is the shortest semi auto I have ever fired in 308. 12.5" is intriguing simply for the maneuverability and weight reduction, but not sure the blast and concussion are worth the benefits.
