I heard on the radio that the French government is aware of over 1,000 French citizens who left the country to join ISIS. They also know that at least 250 of them have returned in the last few months.

There's a sad reality to these events. Similar to the mass shooters here there's little that can be done to stop these events. Sure, you can do things to minimize loss of life but it's hard to stop someone who isn't afraid to die.
