10/15 Hunt

Is it a CVA?
Check to make sure the breech plug is tight and then check the primer pocket to ensure the primer is seated. If it’s dirty, clean it out or if clean check for burrs and such.

Some folks have had issues with the Blackhorn 209 breech plugs.
It is a CVA Optima. Older not Optima 2. It has a button in front of trigger guard to open breech. Breech plug is in correctly. It has the quick detachable plug. I cleaned it and plug back in with their plug grease

Set up on a small food plot that is in close proximity to bedding. It’s over that small rise and through that gap in the trees. Pics make it hard to see. We had to move back into the hardwoods because the saddle in front of us is where some of the deer step out.
We found several big rubs and scrapes on the walk in.
Got my son on the .308 and I have my muzzleloader with me for backup.

Blaze hammered one! DRT!
He made a great, 100 yard shot! My late Father’s birthday was yesterday, that one was for him.
We gave him a few minutes and then drug him down to our blind. We are staying til dark to see what else shows up. There’s literally no white hair on this deer’s belly.
