You might be able to assist it and make it load.
In the process, there should be some mechanical function that isn't being executed.
That should help you narrow down what should be happening and where it is not working.
How about unloading a manually loaded shell?

Yeah, I usually can get mine back together. I have not tried to put one back together and it is supposed to be difficult.
