I need to read that linked article... I know he's exaggerating his history-- his family said that he sure did go work for Xerox to learn sales... but he mooched off of all of them to get by while he did it. Point being, he had a safety net not everyone has. He has good advice in his first book...
Yeah, that's the analysis I was looking for. The OP showed $3k turned into $130K in 2021... but now that $130K would be about $40K today, based on your numbers. Still a hell of a run from 2020 or earlier, but too late to get in on it.
I'm really curious about the 15 crypto coins... but too lazy to look them all up. Ethereum is up though; like 45%-ish.
That's still a hell of a return, even if not 3300% like 2021.
I don't see why you want to borrow MORE against an asset you expect to fall in value. If you buy another house-- and if prices fall, and your primary is underwater you won't be able to get a mortgage so you'll have to buy the second house with cash-- now you have a paid off second house, and...
I dumped them a decade ago, when I found out they were fingerprinting people cashing BofA checks. That they know are good, and can contact the writer...
The disease is spreading though. BB&T charges $8 to cash their own checks, too. What bull.
But yeah, banks are not doing their jobs any more.
The friction with the transactions is high. But... a lot of states don't charge sales tax on coins, so... consider buying American gold or silver coins. Will save you on the purchase side. Also, if you ever do need to barter, Chinese Pandas, Maple Leafs, Krugerands, etc. etc., and especially...
Maybe they will do it to silver too. That one is super manipulated, and price suppressed. The brokerages have paid fines for manipulating it (down, always). So it's possible that one could be broken too. Would make a lot of folks stacking silver very happy.
I still suggest anyone saddled with a bank debit card with a "visa" logo get the bank to set the credit limit to zero. That way if the card number is stolen, then cannot empty your bank account. Long ago in the good 'ole days, when a debit card was just an ATM card, you needed a PIN to use the...
You figure someone wrote down the card number, then waited till it was purchased and used it immediately upon activation?
Not a bad scam, but I thought the numbers were hidden until you scratched off a coating, not that it would be hard to scratch, replace, put back on shelf.
Anything without...
Hmmm.. the ODT is quoting me as saying some things I didn't say. Not sure how that happened. But the:
"Because they don't want to go to jail? That thing is illegal as heck. Presumably someone pointed that out to them.
wasn't from me. Might be my browser, or the ODT with some folks blocked...
