I figured if I was gonna build one I might as well go for pretty decent quality for the price, and when I added up all the parts earlier the total cost (including optic and accessories) was about 2200. Rifle alone was about 1700. I figure for that price I got a pretty decent setup, though to be...
With the Ruger, I assume it's a special designed BCG an a normal AR-10 BCG won't fit correct? With it being so much lighter, do you know anything about the durability and reliability of such a platform?
I figure my AR is prolly around 7 pounds, are we talking around 10 lbs for an AR-10?
So are you saying the Ruger is not a very good option then? My main concern with that would be the parts. I've a Ruger 5.7 an its a pain to find stuff for it.
Oh wow that looks amazing! Congrats!
Yea one of my main concerns is the additional weight. I've an AR-15 with a can an various other...
Ok thanks, I appreciate the detailed response. I'll certainly look into those parts here shortly. I'd rather cry once, if ya know what I mean.
Do you have an approximate idea of what such a gun night weigh?
I assume a barrel like this is what you had in mind...
Tbh, I don't have any. I'm an electrician by trade so I have just what I need to do that type of work. I've a friend who is a licensed gun dealer and I know he's put together ARs before so I can only presume he has the tools. My hope is that he will assist me when the time comes. Either with a...
Heh seems someone summoned you.
Yea I was looking for something rather accurate, weight however is a concern. Mr Dan also recommend I check out the Ruger SFAR and giving it a quick once over the light weight is certainly appealing. I don't know how much accuracy I'd be giving up however to...
Good morning everyone, as the title states in the near future I'm looking to start putting together a custom build for an AR-10 and would like y'all's feed back on some of the parts I've chosen. To be honest, I don't know alot about this and will be having a friend who builds these on the...
I too would prefer to carry it concealed, I believe a weapon someone doesn't know about is much more effective than one they do. If someone intends to say, rob a store and sees your sidearm you just then become a target if they are determined to rob the place.
I've been looking for most of the...
Evenin fine ODT folks, I recently acquired a nice model 686 with a 6" barrel from a gentlemen on these very forums and am now looking for a holster for said lovely piece. I'd prefer a shoulder rig that can also be used on my belt if I choose to carry it that way.
When it was my duty weapon I...
